In line with our advocacy tour, Congressman Jack Bergman, joined Stacy Esbrook from coalition member, Michigan Community Capital on a tour of Precision Hardwoods in Onaway, Michigan. Business owner Mike Sturgill had the chance to showcase his new facility and discuss the impact of New Markets Tax Credits, which made it possible to finance equipment at a reduced cost and expand the project beyond what would have otherwise been feasible.
Our advocacy tours continue to connect elected officials with small business owners, to learn about their challenges, and see firsthand how investments in small communities create quality, accessible jobs. Projects like this highlight the critical role of CDFI lending and New Markets Tax Credits in supporting business growth throughout the state.
