The owners of Bengal Auto Sales, Gias Uddin Talukder and Romana Chowdhury, started their used vehicle dealership together in 2010. Gias is originally from Bangladesh and moved to the United States in 1998, and worked in pharmacy for ten years before starting Bengal Auto Sales. 

In 2019, the business was facing financial struggles and Gias recognizing the challenges used car dealerships face in securing loans, he connected with Matthew, ProsperUs Detroit’s Lending Director. Connecting with ProsperUs supported him with obtaining a business loan that boosted his business and inventory during tough times.

Beyond business, Gias is committed to giving back to the community. Since 2013, his business has donated almost 37 cars for free during various events in Hamtramck. Despite being a small two-square-mile city, Hamtramck hosts many events, and Bengal Auto Sales actively participates in these, aligning with his vision of community contribution.
