Cadillac Lofts is a transformative two-phase redevelopment project located in downtown Cadillac, Michigan, enhancing the vibrancy of the city’s urban core. This redevelopment involved the transformation of an abandoned grocery store and single-story buildings, sparking new confidence in Cadillac’s downtown real estate market.

Phase I, a four-story mixed-use building on the corner of South Mitchell Street and East Cass Street, was completed in 2020 providing a combination of commercial and residential spaces. This building offers 42 modern loft apartments, with 51% of the units priced affordable to 80% area median income. Amenities include secure entry, on-site parking, elevators, and optional storage lockers, while select southwest-facing units boast scenic views of Lake Cadillac.

Situated steps from Cadillac Commons, Phase I offers unparalleled access to a variety of recreational and community assets, including a public park, splash pad, ice rink, year-round events, and Lake Cadillac’s waterfront. Outdoor enthusiasts enjoy proximity to the White Pine Rail Trail and over 200 miles of snowmobile trails. The first-floor houses commercial tenants, including eateries with outdoor patio spaces, further enhancing the downtown experience.

In 2021, Cadillac Lofts earned a gold award from the International Economic Development Council (IEDC) for excellence in Real Estate Redevelopment and Reuse.

MCC hopes to break ground on Phase II in 2025 adding another four-story, mixed-use building to the redevelopment. This phase will feature 50 workforce housing units, and 1,300 square feet of commercial space.

Managed by Michigan Community Capital, Phase II will extend the community impact of Cadillac Lofts, providing high-quality housing and further energizing downtown Cadillac.
