Located in a CDFI target market and deeply rooted in its mission to serve vulnerable populations, Paddock Counseling exemplifies the kind of client Venture North is committed to supporting. When local banks declined to finance their much-needed expansion, founders Trina Paddock and her daughter Brenna Edwards turned to Venture North and found a partner ready to help. With financing from Venture North using funding from the Michigan CDFI Fund, Paddock Counseling expanded into new office space in Cadillac’s historic Old City Hall, allowing them to grow their team and extend their services to even more individuals facing mental health challenges. As the demand for quality mental health care continues to rise, Paddock Counseling is growing, too – building a workspace that prioritizes staff well-being and a community-based model of care.
