Michigan Community Capital provided New Market Tax Credits to The Wrigley Center in Port Huron to support its renovation and expansion in 2020. Led by Larry J. Jones and developed by Wrigley Center, LLC, the project transformed a vacant, obsolete single-story building in downtown Port Huron into a vibrant mixed-use facility.

The redevelopment introduced 36 rental apartments, with 11 units designated for renters earning 80% or less of the Area Median Income. The commercial space now offers a range of goods and services to the community, featuring the City of Port Huron’s Farmers Market, a 5,500-square-foot year-round market with garage doors for seasonal open-air use.

Additionally, the development includes The Colony Club Event Center, an 8,500-square-foot venue for community events like the annual winter chili fest, along with The Colony Bar and The Colony Bowl, which boasts a rooftop patio. Various retail and service vendors also occupy the space, including be je Salon, Huron Soap & Candle Co., Tee It Up, That The Fry, Dot’s Candy Bar, and Deli-CUE.
